Ubuntu is a community developed, Linux based operating system. It is available in 2 forms, a Desktop Edition, which is perfect for PCs and laptops, and a robust Server Edition offering reliable peformance and predictable evolution. Since its initial release in 2004, Ubuntu usage has grown rapidly making it one of the most popular Linux distributions. It's extensive features and ease of use have allowed it to become a mainstream operating system suitable for expert and novice computer users alike.
